Shocking Mass murder in ottawa claims 6 lives; 4 of them being young children

A shocking mass murder has taken place in Ottawa. Sadly, four of the victims were young children, their mother, and a family friend who was also at the residence at the time of the attack. The father and husband of the victims remains in hospital, but is said to be in stable condition.

Police received multiple calls of a man screaming around 10:52 on Wednesday night and were there within minutes. The home where this vicious attack took place is located in a residential neighborhood in the suburb of Barrhaven.

Police have identified the victims as 35-year-old Darshani Banbaranayake Gama Walwwe Darshani Dilanthika Ekanayake.

Seven-year-old Inuka Wickramasinghe.

Four-year-old daughter Ashwini Wickramasinghe.

Two-year-old daughter Rinyana Wickramasinghe.

Two-month-old daughter Kelly Wickramasinghe.

Husband and father Dhanushka Wickramasinghe is recovering in the hospital, but we cannot imagine the unbelievable loss and shock he is experiencing. The attack was said to be carried out with a large edged weapon.

Police apprehended the suspect, 19-year-old Febrio De-Zoysa 15 km from the downtown core. He is said to be an acquaintance of the family, and had been staying with them while he studied. He has been charged with 6 counts of First-degree murder and one charge of attempted murder. The suspect, or the family is not known to police. The suspect has been ordered not to contact five people, one of them being Dhanushka Wickramasinghe.

Sadly, The family had held a 19th birthday celebration for the suspect just days before the horrible attack.
